सकाळी सकाळी फोन आला आणि फडाफड इंग्रजी झाडलं गेलं.
"येस, थिस इज सोमेश स्पिकिंग", मी उत्तरलो.
"वुई हॅव .. ", मी सोमेशच बोलतोय हे समजल्यावर समोरच्या व्यक्तीने पुढिल माहिती सांगायला सुरूवात केली, त्याला तिथेच थांबवून एक विनंती केली :
"तुम्ही कृपया मराठीत बोलाल का ? कॅन यू प्लिज स्पिक इन मराठी ?",
"नो सर आय कॅन नोट ..", तिकडून उत्तर.
"सॉरी सर, आय ऍम नॉट इन्टरेस्टेड इन इट इफ यू आर नॉट ऑफरिंग इन मराठी !" , मी.
.. खट्क् .. मी फोन ठेवला.
गेल्या महिनाभरात आज झालेला हा तिसरा प्रसंग. बॅन्केकडून सेवा विकण्याविषयी फोन आला की त्यांना 'मराठीत सांगा, नाहितर जमणार नाही.' हा हेका मी धरला आहे, एकदा एकाने मराठीत सगळ सांगितलं. :)
लिहिण्याच कारण : यात आपलं काहिच नुकसान नाही, झाला तर फायदाच, मराठीत सांगा हा हेका धरला तरच मराठी भाषेत व्यावसायिक संवाद उपल्ब्ध होईल, टेलिबॅन्किंग मधे तो पर्याय येईल, मराठी नोकरया वाढतील , या शस्त्राचा वापर आपणही करावा ही विनंती.
