थंड हवेसाठी प्रसिद्ध असलेल्या नाशिकमधली राजकीय हवा मात्र बहुतेकदा गरम असते. आजवर झालेल्या अनेक निवडणुकांमधून याचा प्रत्यय आलेला आहे. एकेकाळी काँग्रेसचा बालेकिल्ला असलेल्या नाशकात मध्यंतरी शरद पवारांच्या पुलोद आघाडीचे वर्चस्व होते. कालांतराने त्यामध्ये बदल होवून नाशिक हा सेना-भाजप युतीचा बालेकिल्ला बनला. पण, अलिकडे या शहरावर मनसेचा मोठा प्रभाव दिसून येत आहे. गेल्या लोकसभा निवडणुकीत सेनेला पिछाडीवर टाकत मनसे दुसऱ्या क्रमांकावर राहिली, पाठोपाठ विधानसभा निवडणुकीत नाशिककरांनी मनसेचे तीन आमदार निवडून दिल्याने सर्वाधिक अस्वस्थता पसरली ती अर्थातच शिवसेने
